MIN UTES OF THE LAST MEETING
The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Proposed;   Chi Hu Seconded;   John Fletcher TREASURERS REPORT)
The treasurer Frank Fallen reportedthat there were 25 playing members, 2 honorary and 7 country members. A breakdown was given of the income and expenditure and a breakdown of the venues and other costs incurred during the year. Because of no longer having the luxury of the income from the Sportsmans Evenings, the relatively small closing balance left the club in a situation that required further discussion of how to inject more income or reduceexpenditure. The possibility of having another Sportsmans Evening was raised, (and suggestions that it should be a men only eventjand left in the hands of John Gregory and Steve Clough to reportback at a later stage.lt was finally proposed that a levy of £ 15.00 would be requested from the members, and that prizeswould no longer be provided at each event, other than the trophies provided by the sponsors. PROPOSED;    RayCostello SECONDED;   PatCostello MATCH SECRETARYS REPORT
Mr Vince Crolla reported that there was nothing to report, but elucidated on the situation of Golfer of the Year, and clarified how the handicap system operates. The Golfer of the year is decided by taking the results from the 4 best events out of five for each member dropping the worst result out of the calculations. The Toffs handicap system works by declaring the members Golf Club handicap at the beginning of the Toffs season, and after adjustments made during the year the handicap to be declared at each Toffs event is the LOWER of either the Golf Club handicap or Toffs handicap. The handicaps are decided by winning events, and are graded 0-9   less 10%, 10-18 less 15% and 18-28 less 20%. The member coming second or third loses 7½%.
